Krea8tors May Blog Hop – Techniques

Welcome to my very first time joining the Kre8tors Blog Hop. The theme for this month is techniques. I have been playing around with different backgrounds, getting inky and enjoying the process.

Both of these cards use a simple technique to create the background, but the different cardstock finishes change the overall effect. I used Stampin’ Markers to scribble onto an acrylic block. I then sprayed the block a few times to blend the ink. I then ‘stamped’ the block firstly onto a piece of whisper white cardstock.

The colours that I used were Calypso Coral, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Pool Party and Pear Pizazz. They produce a very soft subtle when used on Whisper white, a perfect backdrop for these little cuties from the NEW Free as a Bird stamp set.

For the next card I followed the same process but ‘stamped’ the background onto watercolour paper and allowed the colours to run. The finish is a bit more vibrant than the previous card. I used the pretty Dandelion Wishes stamp set to make a simple card allowing the colours to take centre stage.

I hope that you enjoyed hopping with me today and I would love to hear what you think by leaving a comment (at top of blog post).

I’m going to grab a coffee and join you on the hop, and now it’s time to visit Laura’s Lovely blog by clicking on the next button below. If you get lost at any stage, the complete list of blogs can be found below.

Ink.Stamp.Share. April blog hop

Hello and welcome to this months Ink.Stamp.Share monthly blog hop celebrating all things floral. This is my first time joining this talented group of demos, and I have had so much fun creating these projects.

I decided to use the gorgeous retiring set Petal Palette. I am feeling quite sad that this one is leaving us as this was my first play with these stamps and OH DEAR……I am in love!! I think this will have to go straight to the top of my keep pile.

I have been admiring watercoloured embossed cards for a while, so I had a go. Why haven’t I tried this before? I loved the freedom of the movement of ink and the vibrant colours, and did I mention heat embossing is my all time favourite technique. This project was papercraft heaven for me!

The ink colours I used are all from the Brights family, perfect for a grey rainy day like today: Granny Apple Green, Mango Melody, Melon Mambo and Poppy Parade. I accented this by using the Well Written Framelit Dies in Blackberry Bliss, which I also used for the card base.

I really hope that you liked my projects today and would love to hear what you think by leaving a comment (at top of blog post).

Thank you so much for joining me today, your next hop is over to my lovely Norfolk neighbour Sandra. Just click on the NEXT button below….

If you don’t already have a demonstrator I would love to help. You can order any of the products I have used today from my online shop. Please remember to use the current hostess code that can be found in the sidebar to receive a thank you gift directly from me.

Happy Stampin’

Dream Big!

We all need a dream or two…..three, four or more! If you’re going to dream then why not go BIG!

For this card I used the stunning stamp set Follow Your Dreams and the matching framelits.

The background was sponged then splashed lightly with water to add some texture. I used Gorgeous Grape, Pacific Point, Bermuda Bay and Coastal Cabana Stampin’ Up! inks. The dream-catcher in the background was heat embossed in silver.

Follow Your Dreams and enjoy the ride!

The Beauty of the First Frost

I just love a cold, crisp and clear Winters’ day. We have been lucky enough to have a few of those recently with the sun shining in through the windows, brightening our day.

In the garden I have a standard miniature rose tree that hangs on to a few flowers right into the winter and when the first frost touches the petals it just looks so pretty. This stamp set makes me think of exactly those moments.

The Soft Sea Foam ink adds just a touch of wintery colour to the Rich Razzleberry flowers. The colour combo also includes what has become my ‘go to’ neutral, Gray Granite.

The elements of the card were so easy to cut using the matching framelits. I cut a few extra to save for later!

Not wanting to put the stamps away yet I just had to add some colour to the inside of the card.

The Beauty of the First Frost…….

I Made a Wish

Dandelion Wishes was one of the stamp sets that enticed me back to the world of Stampin’ Up! I made these cards for a team swap recently using the stamparatus and the marker to stamp colouring technique.

I loved the design but it needed just a little something….instead of reaching for the bling I added this cute little butterfly from the NEW Butterfly Gala stamp set.

I kept the butterfly black and white for a fresher look, and of course I made myself lots of spares for future projects using the co-ordinating punch.

Thanks for stopping by today

The Best Time of Year

Happy New Year!

I love January….my Birthday month and it’s Saleabration time. Not only that, we also have a NEW Spring/Summer catalogue. If you need a copy of the new catalogues just send me a quick email and I will send one in the post or you can click on the images to the right for the PDF versions.

Here is a quick video to give you a quick taster of some of the new products.

Happy Browsing,

Good to be back….

It had been exactly one year since I stopped being a demonstrator for Stampin’ Up!….until today.

Oh how I missed it – the community, the creativity, the products, but most of all spending time with amazing friends. So much had happened in life and I’m not really sure why but I hid away from things and people that mattered to me. It took a while to see it, but here I am back again, feeling very excited at the opportunities before me.

I really hope that you will enjoy sharing the creative journey with me, now off to play with my new goodies in my starter kit. Just look at all of the beautiful colours. Today I am a lucky lady!

Happy Stampin’
